Ottobock Paexo Shoulder

By Ottobock

Ottobock Paexo Shoulder is a 1.9 kg passive shoulder exoskeleton for work above shoulder height.

The Paexo Shoulder was the first market-ready product from Ottobock Industrials, on the market since October 2018. A newer version, the Ottobock Shoulder, builds on it. According to the manufacturer the exoskeleton weighs 1.9 kg and is worn close to the body like a rucksack. The weight of the raised arms is transferred through arm shells and a mechanical pulley system to the hips, to spare the muscles and joints of the shoulder. No energy supply is needed. Putting on and taking off takes under 20 seconds and, according to Ottobock, it can be worn comfortably for more than eight hours in logistics, production, maintenance and trades. Hilti offers the exoskeleton as the EXO-O1.
