By Lely
Lely Astronaut is a family of automatic milking robots with A5 Next as the current manufacturer edition.
Lely Astronaut is a family of automatic milking robots with A5 Next as the current manufacturer edition. The system uses a hybrid arm and teat detection to automate attachment and milking. Its milking box forms part of a larger barn arrangement involving cow traffic, utilities and daily farm management. The manufacturer links it to Horizon for herd management and lists an automatic milk filter as an option. A project therefore requires technical installation choices alongside monitoring and maintenance arrangements. Earlier Astronaut generations remain within the same family; physical performance is not adopted without a matching edition table.
